My Nutrition Story

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  I just wanted a chance to tell my Nutrition Story to the world. Thank you so much taking the time to learn a little bit about me.

I was born in Portland, Maine and grew up about 40 minutes south of there in Springvale, Maine. I was always a very creative kiddo.  Regularly putting on neighborhood plays with childhood friends or trying to sell my own artwork to my neighbors.  I guess I was tapping into my entrepreneurial spirit even as a young kid.  From a young age, I think I was always interested in health and the human body.  I originally wanted to go into Pediatrics and become a doctor.  At some point during college at The University of New Hampshire, I decided Nutrition was an even more interesting subject.  (Though admittedly my diet consisted of cereal, nachos, and keystone light…but that’s neither here or there.)  After getting my degree from UNH I moved to Boulder, CO.  It felt like the health capital of the US.  Everybody was out hiking, biking, and running all the time.  It was amazing!  I met my now husband (Brandon) there one summer who was in school in New Haven, CT.  Since he had to go back East for school at the end of the summer, I guess I was moving too.  Here I took my fitness journey to the next level by getting my 200 hour yoga certification.  Not totally sure where my path was taking me, I decided to go back to school to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.  It was time I made my Nutrition path official.  Brandon had just graduated from Graduate School and we were ready for some warm weather.  It had been a particularly cold winter in Connecticut that year.  Brandon was from Arizona, so I applied to Arizona State University and got back into school mode.  (Side note, college second time around isn’t nearly as fun as the first time.)  After getting my degree I got my first job as a Dietitian with Women, Infants, and Children (a government funded program providing supplemental foods and nutrition advice to those in need).  After a few years and looking for a change, I ended up in School Foodservice doing the menu planning for a Phoenix school district.  On the side I did some private counseling, worked for a few start ups, and always doing various things to keep myself busy.  Oh yeah, and somewhere along the way Brandon and I got married.  Then we had kids and life got very, very busy.  I took a step back from my full time position at the school district to raise my little ones.  In 2020, in the height of the pandemic we flipped our lives upside down and moved to back to Boulder, CO.  Yes, you guessed it, it is still the health capital of the US.  The perfect place to launch my own business focusing on health and wellness.  Launching your own business is fun but hard, creative but humbling, and exciting but exhausting.  I am constantly learning new things and keeping myself on my toes.  I love working with clients and helping them on their nutrition journey.  This story is definitely still be written so….stay tuned!

Thank you for all of your help and support.  It means the world to me!
